01. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and ShadowSurf Technologies, a registered MSME enterprise operating from Maharashtra, India ("Company", "we", "us").
02. Description of Service
ShadowSurf is a privacy-first Android web browser and optional VPN service designed to protect user privacy, block intrusive advertising, and provide an optimised browsing experience. The App is available on the Google Play Store and is offered in both a free tier and a premium subscription tier.

- Optional WireGuard®-based VPN service (free and premium tiers)
- On-device AI search and page summarisation (Shadow AI)
- Secure Ghost Vault for private file and media storage
- Premium Support Chat for subscribed users
03. Eligibility & Account Registration
3.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years of age to use ShadowSurf. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
3.2 Account Security
If you create a ShadowSurf Secure ID, you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at contact.shadowsurf@gmail.com if you suspect any unauthorised access.
04. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use ShadowSurf solely for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Using the VPN to engage in illegal activities, including but not limited to accessing child exploitation material, conducting cyberattacks, or committing fraud
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any component of the App
- Using automated scripts, bots, or tools to abuse the service or circumvent usage limits
- Reselling, sublicensing, or commercially redistributing the App or its features without written authorisation
- Transmitting malware, viruses, or any code designed to damage or disrupt systems
- Impersonating ShadowSurf Technologies or any of its representatives
Violation of this policy may result in immediate account termination and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement authorities.
05. Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property rights in the ShadowSurf application — including but not limited to the source code, user interface design, logo, brand identity, written content, and proprietary algorithms — are exclusively owned by ShadowSurf Technologies and are protected under applicable Indian and international intellectual property law.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.
"ShadowSurf", the ShadowSurf shield logo, "Shadow AI", "Ghost Vault", and "Page Ninja" are trademarks of ShadowSurf Technologies. You may not use these marks without prior written consent.
06. Subscriptions, Billing & Refunds
6.1 Premium Subscription
ShadowSurf offers optional premium subscription plans that unlock advanced VPN features, ad-free experience, and priority support. All billing is processed exclusively through Google Play Billing. By subscribing, you agree to Google Play's payment terms in addition to these Terms.
6.2 Free Tier
The free tier of ShadowSurf is provided at no cost and includes access to core browser features and limited VPN servers. Free tier users may be shown interstitial advertisements served by Google AdMob.
6.3 Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Google Play Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are subject to Google Play's refund policy. ShadowSurf Technologies does not independently process refunds for Play Store transactions.
07. Disclaimers & Warranties
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities. We do not guarantee that the VPN service will be available in all geographic regions or that it will successfully bypass all content restrictions in all jurisdictions.
ShadowSurf is a privacy tool, not a guarantee of complete anonymity. While we implement industry-leading privacy protections, no technology can guarantee absolute anonymity on the internet.
08. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ShadowSurf Technologies, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or INR 500 (whichever is greater).
09. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to ShadowSurf at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to other users, third parties, or the Company.
You may terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device and cancelling any active subscription through Google Play. Upon termination, your licence to use the App ceases immediately.
10. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. The "Effective Date" at the top of this document indicates when the Terms were last updated.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration in Wardha, Maharashtra, India, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
