Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SurveyMark, a ShadowSurf product, handles information when you use the SurveyMark Android application and related support services. This policy applies specifically to SurveyMark and does not replace or modify the separate privacy policy of ShadowSurf Browser.

2. Information the app may access

SurveyMark is a camera and field-documentation application. Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, the app may access:

• Camera: to capture photos and videos.
• Location: to obtain location information used for location-aware capture, stamps and reports.
• Photos and media: to import or save images and other media when you choose those actions.
• Microphone: when you use video recording with audio, if microphone permission is enabled.
• Device/app information: limited technical information required by the app or third-party SDKs, such as advertising services, may be processed according to their applicable policies.

3. How information is used

Information accessed by SurveyMark is used to provide the feature you requested, such as creating a location stamp, displaying coordinates and accuracy, importing media, recording video, saving captured media, generating reports, or responding to support requests.

4. Photos, videos and location

Photos and videos are created or imported at your direction. Location information can be embedded into a stamp or report when you use those features. SurveyMark does not require you to publish your captured media publicly. You should review the contents of a photo, video or report before sharing it because a stamped file may contain location or other information you chose to include.

5. Advertising and third-party services

The free version of SurveyMark may display advertising. Advertising and related measurement may be provided by third-party advertising SDKs such as Google AdMob. Those providers may process device or advertising-related information under their own privacy policies. SurveyMark does not sell your personal information.

6. Sharing

SurveyMark may use service providers to operate app functionality, analytics, advertising or support. We do not sell personal information. When you explicitly choose to share a photo, video or report using Android's share functionality, the transfer is initiated by you and is governed by the recipient service's policies.

7. Storage and retention

Captured or imported files may be stored on your device according to your selected save/storage options. We do not retain your local media on our servers merely because you captured it in the app. Support messages or information you voluntarily send to us may be retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the service to protect information handled through our support and online services. No electronic service can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices

Android permissions can be reviewed and changed in your device settings. You can also choose whether to use features that require optional permissions. You can delete media saved on your device using your device's normal file/gallery controls.

10. Children

SurveyMark is not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when SurveyMark's features, services or data practices change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
